"Maison represents an unencumbered curatorial project for Services Généraux, allowing the studio total freedom to locate and secure its geographical placement, renovate the structure in response to the topography of the terrain, dictate the new allocation of interior spaces (in response to evolutions in modern living), and fill those spaces with furnishings, artworks and any other accoutrements that one could expect in the well appointed home of an urban professional. The result is a capacious, open-plan dwelling spread across two levels, a ruined farmhouse transformed with conscious efforts made to blur the lines of old and new, inside and outside. A triptych of floor-to-ceiling windows of uneven dimensions line the house’s southern façade, offering a flood of natural light throughout the ground floor living spaces."
